{"id":4922,"date":"2022-04-28T10:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-04-28T17:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/berkonomics.com\/?p=4922"},"modified":"2022-04-29T10:54:36","modified_gmt":"2022-04-29T17:54:36","slug":"here-are-tricks-to-find-yourself-on-social-media","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/berkonomics.com\/?p=4922","title":{"rendered":"Here are tricks to find yourself on social media."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Finding your needle in the haystack<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There is so much information being shot at us daily via social media streams that we<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2518\" src=\"https:\/\/berkonomics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/Needle_haystack1-300x214.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"214\" \/> should monitor and control that which pertains to our business \u2013 and do so with some level of expertise.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Start with a simple tool.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are tools to inform you when your company name or personal name is mentioned.\u00a0 Google Alerts can be set for any parameter and then be set to deliver your results daily or more often using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/alerts\"><u>Google.com\/alerts.<\/u><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Then add more complex listening posts.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can do the same for the various social media and streaming sites at <a href=\"https:\/\/mention.com\/en\/\"><u>Mention.com<\/u> <\/a>or by subscribing to a tool like <a href=\"https:\/\/tweetdeck.twitter.com\/\"><u>Tweetdeck.com<\/u><\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 You will be able to control (to a degree) the placement of your name in the rankings with a little work one step beyond search engine optimization.\u00a0 Try a subscription with <a href=\"https:\/\/brandyourself.com\/\"><u>Brandyourself.com<\/u><\/a>, where the monthly subscription is quite inexpensive and worth the price.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Proactively link outward from your site.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><em>[Email readers, continue here&#8230;]\u00a0<\/em> <\/span>\u00a0 You might consider a special page on your website just for links to positive press and mentions.\u00a0 Those links will improve your search results as well.\u00a0\u00a0 Measure your relative success with Facebook, Twitter, Google, Instagram and LinkedIn by searching with <a href=\"http:\/\/socialmention.com\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">SocialMention.com<\/span><\/a>, a site that ranks your mentions by source and as positive, neutral or negative.\u00a0 \u00a0Try registering in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hootsuite.com\/products\/insights\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Hootsuite Insights<\/span><\/a> and work to protect your brand with intelligent social listening, and monitoring trends.\u00a0 Then try <a href=\"https:\/\/app.buzzsumo.com\/content\/web\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">BuzzSumo.com<\/span><\/a> a free tool to measure your engagement score with the major platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Reddit and more.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Listening posts are all about your brand \u2013 personal or corporate.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-2490\" src=\"https:\/\/berkonomics.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/vector-social-media-concept_M1uBCnrO_L-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/>You need to know what people are saying and how often you are mentioned.\u00a0 Your aim is to control the bad information, reinforce the good postings, and react to suggestions while you engage with your fans.<\/p>\n<p><strong>And it\u2019s all newer than classic marketing texts.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>None of this information about listening posts is available in classic marketing texts;
