{"id":1946,"date":"2014-03-27T10:00:39","date_gmt":"2014-03-27T17:00:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/berkonomics.com\/?p=1946"},"modified":"2014-03-31T14:07:30","modified_gmt":"2014-03-31T21:07:30","slug":"can-you-borrow-your-way-to-success","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/berkonomics.com\/?p=1946","title":{"rendered":"Can you borrow your way to success?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\"><b>With help from JJ Richa<\/b><\/p>\n<p>There are so many ways to finance a small business.\u00a0 Most of them rely upon some form of debt, often personally guaranteed by the founder(s).\u00a0 So we investigate the most simple of these methods of debt financing first, since most are simple to execute and non-dilutive \u2013 that is help you to retain your ownership intact.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a list of common loan types:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Line of credit \u2013 short term working capital<\/li>\n<li>Term loan \u2013real estate, equipment or other long term capital requirements<\/li>\n<li>Guarantee based programs:\n<ul>\n<li>Small Business Administration (SBA)<\/li>\n<li>CalCap \u2013 California Capital Access Program<\/li>\n<li>State loan guarantee<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Economic development programs such as CEDLI<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Small Business Administration (SBA) is a valuable funding resource for many businesses. However, the SBA itself does not actually make loans. Instead, the SBA guarantees bank loans, allowing commercial lenders to make loans that they may not otherwise.
