\"DB-TEDx06\"<\/a>Dave Berkus is a noted speaker, author and early stage private equity investor. He is acknowledged as one of the most active angel investors in the country, having made and actively participated in over 180 technology investments. He currently manages Wayfare Ventures, LLC, a venture fund for the travel industry, as well as two angel VC funds (Berkus Technology Ventures, LLC <\/em>and Kodiak Ventures, L.P.<\/em>)\u00a0 and is Managing Director of three Tech Coast Angels ACE Funds (TCA). \u00a0Dave\u00a0is past Chairman of\u00a0TCA, one of the largest angel networks in the United States.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
Dave currently serves as chairman of five of his portfolio companies, and was named \u201cDirector of the Year, Early Stage Businesses\u201d<\/em> by The Forum for Corporate Directors for his successful directorship and CEO coaching efforts. \u00a0He founded his first commercial venture at the age of fifteen \u2013 a phonograph record production and manufacturing company he managed through his college years, taking it public shortly after college graduation. He was the founder of Computerized Lodging Systems Inc (CLS), which he guided as CEO for over a decade that included two consecutive years on the Inc.500<\/em> list of America’s fastest growing companies. <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

For his accomplishments in advancing technology in the hospitality industry, in 1998 he was inducted into the Hospitality (HFTP) “International Hall of Fame”<\/em>, one of only forty so honored worldwide over the years.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Dave is\u00a0author of “Basic Berkonomics,” “Berkonomics,”<\/em> “Advanced Berkonomics,”\u00a0<\/em>\u201cExtending the Runway<\/em>\u201d,\u00a0and the Small Business Success Collection<\/em> of eight mini-books, all addressing resource and growth issues for early stage businesses. He is co-author of “Get Scrappy”<\/em> with Kim Shepherd, a noted advocate of virtual businesses. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
