Miles,
The IRS now looks more closely at companies using independent contractors, especially software programming houses.  We used to speak of the &quot;ten tests&quot; which in the latest IRS guidelines now amount to twenty.  Whether this is a clarification or an expansion is less important than the fact that there is more of a focus by the iRS on this practice.
