The IRS now looks more closely at companies using independent contractors, especially software programming houses. We used to speak of the “ten tests” which in the latest IRS guidelines now amount to twenty. Whether this is a clarification or an expansion is less important than the fact that there is more of a focus by the iRS on this practice.
