It is a start up and they are rather adamant that this is not needed. I disagree with this position and am interested in hearing your thoughts. How expensive could this be for a 5 person board of a software company?

When I was practicing corporate law years ago, very few, if any, had D&O insurance. It was a great hardship to deal with the time and expense of lawsuits for the fairly new and/or small corporations that I dealt with as a sole practitioner.
