After running out of money chasing the consumer market the company assets were sold to a major supplier who is now making the original niche product for the smaller market. The smaller market opportunity was obvious to me when I started but the VC wanted to go big. It was my first startup experience after retiring from the corporate world and the VC was focused on scale. I thought they were smarter than me. I was wrong: :)
