Hi Dave.
When I first took over our Charities and began checking on work flow, I uncovered bottlenecks at certain points. Further inquiry indicated that staff at point A was looking down the line to workflow at point B or C to try to help them out. We quickly had a meeting and embraced our new culture of "Get it off your desk!" Explained to troops that the only way to solve the bottleneck was to push the work down the line to see where the problem(s) really were. Only way we could identify inefficiencies and analyze whether more or different staff was needed. Everyone bought in! Worked and improved immediately. Now a mantra within the culture. Even have banners around the offices simply stating "Get It Off Your Desk!"
All my best, Harley
